FAQ

Q: What is Permanent Make-up?
A: Permanent makeup is the art and science of implementing color in to your skin. Specialized instruments allow the Licensed professional to place color in to the inner layer of your skin called the dermis. Because the epidermis (the outer most layer of the skin) is always shedding and renewing itself, the color at first will appear darker than the final result. The color in the top layer will flake off during the healing process lightening the overall effect. After approximately one week you will be left with a beautiful, natural result.

Q: Who would benefit?
A: Anyone who is in need of feature correction, or just simply wants to enhance what they already have without having to deal with makeup application, which can sometimes be very time consuming. It’s also ideal for those who suffer from cosmetic allergies, or alopecia.

Q: What is the recovery time for Permanent Make-up?
A: Everyone is different, but typically it takes anywhere from 3-7 days on the surface, and about another week below the surface. In most cases there is no downtime. Lips have some residual swelling and will chap at first. There may be light swelling after the eyeliner, and brows may appear darker than usual, but will absolutely soften in a few days.

Q: Can I still wear make-up over the tattooed area?
A: Yes, after the area has healed. Permanent makeup is designed to be only an enhancement to your natural features. Wearing additional cosmetics is a personal choice that enhances your permanent make-up.

Q: What is the common reaction after getting Permanent Make-up?
A: Women are usually amazed at how beautiful, natural & subtle permanent make-up is. There is no more dealing with smudged make-up, or daily hassle in application. It saves lots of time!

Q: How is the procedure done?
A: A sterilized, disposable needle is used to implant colored pigment beneath the top layer of skin enhancing natural features.

Q: Is it painful?
A: The topical numbing anesthetic creams used today are much stronger than in years past. Following rules beforehand is necessary and helpful: No alcohol, aspirin, and blood thinning medications will greatly reduce any discomfort associated with the procedure. No caffeine same day as procedure.

Q: How long will it take?
A: Procedures take anywhere from one to three hours depending on what you get done. The most important parts of all the procedures is the artwork, precision and choosing the correct shade and pigment. Client will pre approve all decisions.

Q: How soon will the results be visible?
A: Immediately, although within a week you will notice a visible difference. All clients are required to come in 30 days after procedure at which any adjustments will be made if necessary at no additional expense.

Q: How long does it last?
A: It is a permanent make-up procedure, however “touch-ups” or “refresher color boosts” are recommended for maintenance every couple of years or so depending on the person and how well the hold the pigment.

Q: What about allergic reactions?
A: Those with allergies are very good candidates. If you are prone to allergies, you may ask the technician to do an allergy test. Reactions are very rare.

Q: What if the shape or line isn’t what I want?
A: The eyebrows are drawn on with a semi-permanent marker prior to the start of any procedure, so you will see exactly what is going to be done before anything permanent is applied. The same applies for lip and eyeliner.

Q: What about removal of pigment?
A: We call “pigment lifting” which is available and works very well if the technician is trained in that process. Trying to remove larger areas of permanent makeup pigments will require more extensive treatment, such as laser which a dermatologist can perform.
